Who We Work With

Our clients are the decision makers in small and mid-market privately held companies – business owners, CEOs, presidents, and managing partners – in the Denver Metro area.

TAB members lead businesses with annual revenues ranging from $200,000 to more than $50 million, have anywhere from one to more than 400 employees, and represent vital economic growth in the Denver economy. Industries we serve include technology, manufacturing and construction, finance, real estate, insurance, retail, and a variety of service businesses. More specifically, we work with business owners who:

  • Want to work on their business, not just in their business.
  • Want a sounding board and honest, objective feedback.
  • Want more balance between work and personal life.
  • Run businesses struggling with conflict and/or succession planning in their family run business.
  • Are under pressure to turn their business around.
  • Need to reduce the high cost of turnover.
  • Are ready to hear the truth.

Sound familiar?

You have created a company – and a job for yourself – but too often it feels like you are working for someone else. You’re working long hours and not taking enough money out of the business. You’re working for your business, rather than having your business working for you. Your life is out of balance and your stress is high. You want to increase company revenues and your personal income, grow your equity in the business, focus your time on strategic initiatives, and have time for family and friends.

You are having trouble finding and keeping the right talent. Having the right employees is critical to your success. But just when you think you finally have your staffing issues resolved, key people leave the business or simply stop performing up to standard. You want to know where to find the best employees, how to keep them once you’ve hired and trained them, and how to keep them motivated and engaged so that they grow with the company and become integral players on a successful team.

You want to grow your business but you don’t know where to start. You’ve tried many different marketing plans and they either don’t work or don’t deliver consistent results. Your marketing budget is limited and you need to make the most of it. You need to know how and where to invest marketing dollars so that you can drive growth and profitability.

You are concerned that your business won’t be ready to sell or transition to family members when the time comes. You know you’ll eventually sell your business or have family members take over, but you’re not sure what you should be doing now in preparation for that to happen. You need to see maximum equity out of the business when you do sell, and at the same time you want to do the right thing for your successor. You want to make sure that your business takes care of you and your family even after you leave the business.

You will have a successful experience as a TAB member if:

You are committed to change. You realize that you “don’t know what you don’t know” and you’re open to receiving (and sharing) new ideas that will help take your business to the next level. You are ready to let the way you think about business evolve, to take new and different kinds of action, and improve your business by taking strategic risks.

You want to work on your business, not just in your business. You realize that as the leader of your company you can’t afford to stay bogged down in the day-to-day details of running your company. Your job is about vision, strategy, and making decisions that will take your business in the direction you want to see it go.

You want more than “networking.” If you are looking for a leads group or networking function, TAB is not for you. While you will most certainly make fascinating business contacts as a result of being a TAB member, the focus of TAB is on you, your business, your success.

You adhere to the highest standards of honesty and integrity. If you want to succeed by taking ethical shortcuts, TAB is not for you. If you want to play the business game at the highest level, we would like to help you succeed.

We are passionate about business and think it should be fun and engaging, not just one long stressful grind to the top. If you share our attitudes and values, please keep reading to find out more about How We Work.
